Image Guidelines
A great photo makes a great portrait.
Our AI portrait technology is powerful - but it works best when it has a great photo to work from. Follow these simple tips to get the best possible result for your pet.
✅ The Perfect Photo
Clear and in focus - Make sure your pet is sharp and not blurry. Even slight blur can affect the quality of the final portrait.
Good lighting - Natural daylight is best. Take your photo near a window or outside on an overcast day. Avoid dark rooms, harsh flash, or photos taken at night.
Pet is the main focus - Your pet should be the star of the photo — front and centre, taking up most of the frame. Avoid wide shots where your pet appears small.
Face clearly visible - We need to see your pet's eyes, nose, and features clearly. Head-on or slight side angles work best.
Single pet only - Each portrait is created for one pet at a time. Please only include one pet in your photo.
High resolution - The clearer and higher resolution your photo, the more detailed your portrait will be. Avoid screenshots or heavily compressed images.
❌ Photos to Avoid
- Blurry or out-of-focus images
- Dark or poorly lit photos
- Photos with heavy filters applied
- Wide shots where your pet is small in the frame
- Photos with multiple pets
- Screenshots from social media (low resolution)
- Photos where your pet's face is obscured or turned away
💡 Pro Tips
- Outdoor photos in natural light almost always produce the best results
- Get down to your pet's level — photos taken at eye level look more natural than looking down at them
- A relaxed pet makes for a better portrait — try photographing them when they're calm or resting
- Recent photos are best so the portrait reflects how your pet looks today
What Happens If My Photo Isn't Great?
Our system will flag low quality photos before you proceed. If your photo is too dark, blurry, or low resolution, you'll be prompted to try a different one.
Please note that portrait quality is directly linked to photo quality. We are unable to offer refunds or replacements where a low quality photo was submitted. It's worth taking a few minutes to find the best photo you have — your pet deserves it!
